Growth and healing happen within a safe relationship
You recognize that your go-to strategies for handling stress are not working as well as they used to. You’re feeling less fulfilled, less joy, and don’t know why. You have a sense that painful experiences from the past are impacting you in the present. You see that you’re stuck in a cycle but can’t seem to get out of it.
I’m glad you’re here.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor with more than 25 years of providing psychotherapy, I specialize in working with clients who are experiencing life changes/transitions, clients impacted by a challenging childhood, clients who have experienced trauma, and clients who are not sure what’s getting in the way of experiencing joy and satisfaction in their lives and relationships.
Because growth and healing happen within a safe relationship, I aim to provide a safe, collaborative counseling relationship that promotes self-exploration and personal growth. My style is relational, trauma-informed, and interactive. I pull from a variety of theoretical orientations, styles, and techniques including interpersonal, systems, cognitive, psychodynamic, and psycho-educational approaches. We’ll work on identifying and challenging false narratives, connecting more deeply with yourself on emotional and somatic levels, and utilizing your innate strengths for change, growth, and healing. In addition to insight and understanding, you will learn skills to better manage stress, emotions, and relationships.
Areas of special interest include women’s issues, college student mental health, family of origin and attachment issues, trauma, interpersonal dynamics, wellness, and the mind-body connection.
